The programme is highly practical and covers care and maintenance of washing machines; an understanding of fabrics and care instructions for each; understanding garment care labels; effective sorting procedures; identification and removal of stains; selecting correct washing agents and softeners; selection of suitable washing cycles and loading the machine; laundering of high-risk items (incorporating hand washing); reporting of faulty equipment; post-wash inspection; sorting of items for ironing; ironing according to instructions; starching of shirts and cuffs, practical ironing; folding and packing away.
We also emphasize of reporting of faulty equipment and discuss consequences of ineffective laundry procedures.
The programme will be run over 2 days from 09h30 – 15h00
You are invited to send any laundry problems or ‘disasters’ along to the class for discussion/ possible remediation, as well as your iron for cleaning (on the second day).
All Learners will receive a Domestic Bliss certificate on completion of the programme. We envisage this programme being highly beneficial and look forward to being of service to you.
